The first phase of the Killingly sewer plant upgrade is set to begin. Contractors are continuing abatement and asbestos work at the Rogers pump station, a modest-sized structure that accepts sewage from the Rogers village area and propels it to the main Danielson treatment plant. The replacement of station’s old electrical components will be commenced during winter and expected to be completed by the end of summer. The $2.8 million project also calls for tearing down the exterior section of the station and rebuilding it to meet new flood standards.
